SiORA Komodo Booking Guide

Step-by-step guide to the mandatory SiORA online park-booking platform — how to register, pay the conservation fee, and avoid the most common pitfalls.

In Short

SiORA is the official online booking and conservation-fee system for Komodo National Park, launched in 2024 by the park authority. Every visitor entering the park must be registered through SiORA before boarding their boat. For private charter guests, we handle this on your behalf — this guide explains how it works.

What SiORA Is and Why It Exists

SiORA (Sistem Informasi Online Reservasi dan Akuntabilitas) is the digital booking system the Komodo park authority introduced in 2024 to manage visitor numbers, collect conservation fees, and create traceable accountability for every guest entering the park. Before SiORA, fees were collected in cash at the park gates; after SiORA, every visitor is pre-registered online with name, passport number, dates, and entry point.

How Booking Works for Charter Guests

How Booking Works for Charter Guests

For private and open-trip charter guests, the operator handles the SiORA registration on your behalf. You provide passport details (full name, nationality, passport number, date of birth) when you confirm the booking. The operator submits these to SiORA, pays the conservation fee, and shows the digital permit at the park entry.

You do not need to create your own SiORA account unless you are visiting the park independently (without a charter operator).

Independent Travellers — Self Booking

Independent Travellers — Self Booking

If you are entering the park without a charter operator (own boat, charter with a non-licensed operator, day-trip on a non-registered vessel), you need to register on SiORA directly. The platform is at siora.komodonationalpark.id and supports Indonesian and English. Account creation requires a passport scan and an active email. Payment is by credit card or bank transfer (Indonesian banks). Allow 24–48 hours for processing.

Step by Step

Optional — Camera permit

SiORA FAQ

01

Do I need to create my own SiORA account?

Not if you are on a private or open-trip charter — the operator handles registration on your behalf. Only independent travellers without an operator need to register themselves.

02

How early should the operator submit my booking?

At least 7 days before arrival is recommended. Last-minute (under 48 hours) submissions are possible but risk weekend / holiday delays in processing.

03

Is the conservation fee refundable?

No. SiORA fees are non-refundable once issued, even if the trip is cancelled. Travel insurance covers this in the “non-recoverable fees” category.

04

Can I pay in cash at the park gate?

Not since SiORA launched. All park fees must be pre-paid through SiORA before entry.

05

What if the passport details on the booking are wrong?

The operator can amend until 24 hours before entry. After that, you must present matching ID at the gate or be refused entry.

SiORA in 2027: What Changes

As of this season, the park has announced no structural change for 2027: SiORA remains the official booking channel, daily visitor quotas continue, and e-tickets stay tied to passport identity. The practical implication is unchanged — peak-week slots (July–August, Christmas–New Year) should be secured as soon as flights are booked, because quota days close before boats do. We monitor the official channel and update this page the day any 2027 revision is published.

Common SiORA Booking Errors and Fixes

The three failures we untangle most often: name mismatch — the e-ticket must match the passport exactly, including middle names; wrong visit date — tickets are date-locked, so a boat reschedule needs a ticket change, not a new booking; and unpaid conservation items — the entry fee, trekking, ranger and activity lines are separate checkboxes, and a missing line surfaces only at the ranger station. When we run your charter, our desk files all lines in one pass; the full walkthrough is in our step-by-step SiORA permit guide and the tariff detail on the Komodo National Park entrance fees page.

SiORA Questions

Is SiORA mandatory for every visitor?

Yes — entry to Komodo National Park runs on SiORA e-tickets for foreign and domestic visitors alike, whether you arrive by charter, shared boat or day tour.

Can the boat operator book SiORA for me?

Yes, and it is the default on our charters: send passport scans at booking and every guest is registered before departure. Self-booking works too; the guide above shows each screen.

What if my date shows sold out?

Quota days do close in peak weeks. Options: shift the itinerary a day, or re-sequence the route so the park-entry day moves. Boats hold more flexibility than tickets — ask before assuming the trip is lost.

Are SiORA tickets refundable?

Tickets are date-locked and identity-locked; changes go through the system rather than free-form refunds. Build the permit cost into your plan as fixed once issued.

Does SiORA include trekking and ranger fees?

They are booked through the same system but as separate line items — entry alone does not cover the dragon trek. Verify every line against the official fee table before paying.
