Aurora Komodo is one of the newest phinisi in our fleet — a 38-metre two-masted vessel built in 2022, designed with a contemporary open-plan layout while keeping the traditional ironwood-and-teak construction of South Sulawesi shipbuilding.
Aurora hits the sweet spot of our fleet — large enough for a comfortable 12-guest charter, small enough that the crew can give every cabin proper attention. The open-plan main deck (saloon flowing into the dining area) feels lighter and more modern than older phinisi, while the upper sun deck still has the classic bowsprit and rigging.
Six cabins across two decks: one master suite (upper deck, king bed, sea-view balcony), four double cabins (lower deck, queen beds), one twin cabin. Every cabin is air-conditioned with en-suite bathroom and rain shower. The main saloon has a 70–inch screen for briefings or evening movies. The sun deck has two day beds, lounge seating, and a small bar.
10 crew for 12 guests — captain, first mate, chef, sous-chef, two stewards, three deckhands, English-speaking naturalist guide. Dive support available on request (additional divemaster). All meals included; private chef accommodates dietary requirements with advance notice.
Master suite + sea-view balcony, intimate crew ratio, easy to book the whole boat for two.
Six cabins suit two or three families travelling together; connecting cabins available.
Executive groups of 10–12 with saloon as conference space.
Aurora is newer than most boats at the USD 4,500/night tier — built 2022 with modern open-plan layout. The trade-off vs older boats at the same price is slightly less traditional aesthetic; you get newer mechanical systems and fresher interiors.
