Lasha is a traditional Buginese phinisi built from select ulin (Bornean ironwood) and teak — the same timbers, and the same shipwright tradition, that South Sulawesi has used for generations. What sets her apart is scale: 52.5 metres over four decks, 466 gross tons, driven by a 750HP Weichai X6170.
That size buys something specific in Komodo. Most luxury phinisi cap out between 10 and 18 guests, so groups above twenty usually get split across two boats. Lasha sleeps 26 in ten private en-suite cabins, which keeps a large family, a corporate group or a wedding party on one vessel, at one table, on one schedule.
Ten air-conditioned cabins, each with an en-suite bathroom and hot shower. A dedicated dive deck serves divers on the main level, while the upper deck carries an indoor dining area and bar lounge. The top deck opens to a sun deck with a shared jacuzzi and generous lounge seating — the way most guests end a day around Komodo.
Below the guest experience sits proper equipment: 22,000 litres of fresh water, two Mitsubishi 6D22 generators at 70 kVA for back-up power, and a navigation suite of GPS, AIS, radar, radio, EPIRB, SOS flares and binoculars.
Four cabin grades, all en-suite and air-conditioned. The two Master Suites take the best of the boat — double bed plus extra bed, private balcony, private jacuzzi and a sea view. Four Junior Suite Balcony cabins repeat the layout without the jacuzzi. Two Grand Deluxe cabins carry twin beds plus an extra bed behind portholes, and two Deluxe cabins complete the deck with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms.
Every grade sleeps two as standard, so 26 guests is a genuine figure rather than a maximum reached by folding beds into corridors.
Board at Labuan Bajo, trek Kelor Island, snorkel at Manjarite, then anchor off Kalong Island for the sunset flight of the fruit bats.
