Our Komodo private speedboat tour for 3 days and 2 nights was an exceptional adventure, starting and ending in Labuan Bajo, the bustling port that serves as the home port of Komodo National Park. We opted for a private speedboat, a decision that gave us incredible flexibility and comfort throughout our journey. While high season boat rentals average around $2,672 per day, we found some amazing deals during the low season, closer to $250 per day, which made the trip much more accessible. It’s definitely worth checking the different seasons if you’re planning a similar trip.
Island Hopping and Dragon Encounters
Our first major stop was Padar Island, a truly iconic landscape. After a short hike, we were rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of three distinct blue bays, all framed by the island’s unique grassland cover. The scenery was absolutely stunning and a photographer’s dream. Next, we made our way to Komodo Island, home to an estimated population of about 1,000 Komodo dragons. Seeing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat was a humbling experience. Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights into their behavior and conservation efforts.
Underwater Wonders and Paradise Sandbanks
One of the highlights of our trip was undoubtedly Manta Point. We spent a good amount of time here, and true to its reputation, we were fortunate enough to see several Manta Rays gracefully gliding through the water. Manta Point is known for hosting these incredible creatures year-round in Komodo National Park, and it absolutely delivered. We also visited Pink Beach, a truly unique spot where the sand gets its distinct pink hue from tiny pieces of red coral that wash up from the reef. It’s a beautiful and surreal place to relax. Our final stop before heading back to Labuan Bajo was Taka Makassar, an internationally recognized sandbar often called “The Paradise Sandbank.” Its pristine white sand and crystal-clear waters were the perfect way to end our incredible Komodo private speedboat tour.
