Private Komodo Boat Charter For Families In Labuan Bajo

July 3, 2026 · Komodo Boat Charter Charter Desk

Planning an exceptional family adventure to Komodo National Park starts in Labuan Bajo. This charming town on Flores Island is the sole departure point for all Komodo boat charters, so be sure to arrive at least one day prior to your scheduled trip. We opted for a private Komodo boat charter, and it was absolutely the best decision for our family, offering flexibility and comfort that larger tours simply can’t match.

Choosing Your Komodo Boat Charter: Season and Vessel

The cost of a private charter can vary significantly depending on the season. During high season, expect to pay an average of $2,672 per day. However, if you’re flexible, low season (January to March) offers incredible value, with daily averages around $250. We traveled in July, which is high season, but the experience was worth every penny. We sailed on the Andalucia Phinisi 2, a beautiful boat launched in 2020 with a capacity of 16 passengers. It departs daily from Labuan Bajo and felt incredibly spacious and luxurious for our family of four.

Exploring the Wonders of Komodo National Park

Even a 1-day Komodo speedboat trip can cover up to six incredible islands within the park, but with our private charter, we took our time and savored each stop. Padar Island was a definite highlight. Located in the Lintah Strait between Rinca and Komodo islands, it’s famous for its dramatic hills and offers a rewarding hike to a peak with breathtaking panoramic views. Pink Beach, on Komodo Island itself, lived up to its name; its unique pink hue comes from tiny pieces of red coral from the surrounding reef, making for truly stunning photographs. And Manta Point? It’s exactly as magical as it sounds, offering year-round snorkeling with majestic Manta Rays gathering in the glistening waters near Komodo National Park’s longest reef. Finally, Komodo Island is home to an estimated population of 1,000 Komodo dragons, which we saw in their natural habitat, alongside other wildlife like Sumba deers, water buffalos, and wild horses. It was an extraordinary wildlife encounter that will stay with us forever.
